I just lost a month!

I can't believe August is almost over! I missed it! I spent the last month battling kidney stones. (See previous blog.) I spent another week after the stent was removed battling more spasms and pain with yet another trip to the emergency room. My urologist assured me that only 5% of his patients have these complications. Lucky me.

Before I was so rudely inconvenienced by the stones, Charlie and I went to Boston. Some friends of ours from Stansbury Park, Utah had a son getting married in the Boston temple. We drove up and surprised them.
We spent a couple of nights at a Marriott for free because of Charlie's Marriott rewards points.

While we were in Boston we had to see the sights! We spent one afternoon downtown Boston and then headed for Lexington and Concord. We followed Paul Revere's ride. Pretty cool. The statue is of the minuteman there in Lexington by the square where the minutemen took a stand against the British.
The bridge is the Old North Bridge where "the shot heard 'round the world" took place. Charlie has a kind of ancestor that was there. We always thought it was a direct ancestor. (You know how those family stories get passed down.) In our sleuthing doing geneology we found out that Captain Davis (in charge of the minutemen at the bridge) was the first shot and killed there. Simon Davis (direct ancestor) is Captain Davis' first cousin once removed. Close enough. We'll claim him.

Glad the stones waited until this trip was done! And are you serious that you have screaming hips and aren't pregnant? Go take a test. Only your kidneys should be screaming! But not any more.
