...but we saved $4000.00.

Forever, since we moved into this house, I have wanted to rip out the berber carpet in front of the fireplace and the kitchen brownish mediocre flooring and replace it with tile.  Merry Christmas to me!  I was so excited to just call and have it done for Christmas.  The materials would be about $3000.  Do-able.   The labor........"Wait.  What was that again?  I thought you said $4000.00.  You did?  Never mind."  Oh Sweetheart!  Guess what we are doing to do on your Christmas vacation?
Notice the mediocre flooring on the right next to the blue underlayment.

We found out why the floor sloped from the hallway.  Minor setback.  Just have to build up the beams and even out the floor.  So it won't be done by Christmas.  That's okay.

So happy Andy is back in the states.  He came for a late Christmas in January.  Things are slow but at least we are making progress.

So exciting!  Almost done!!  What's that, dear?  You say you need a band-aid?  That's way too much blood for a band-aid.  We better go to the ER and have one of your doctors stitch that up.

So worth it!  And we saved $4000.00.

I am so impressed you did it yourselves! And with only one trip to the ER! It looks lovely, too! Good luck with that dishwasher.
