BYU Rugby and Heaven

Our ward was hosting the BYU rugby team for 3 days as they were playing in the Red Rock Invitational in Mesquite, NV.  So fun to have Luke and Dan stay with me.  Convenient that it was Melinda's birthday.  Wayne and Yvonne came over for birthday lime pie made with limes from Karen's tree.  I had the Olympics on, too.  Dan and Luke did homework like good boys.

Our Relief Society fed them breakfast Friday morning.  There was not a crumb left.

After breakfast they set up for a devotional, sang a hymn (Luke was chorister), spiritual thought shared, prayer said, and then they broke up into teams for instruction.  The coach had them put everything away and clean up before they left.  Good boys.

The first day in Mesquite was cloudy and cool.  The second day was warm and sunny!! That's where the Heaven part came in. So much fun to sit with Yvonne and talk and laugh.

Scrum!  I learned how to play rugby so now I can actually understand what is going on.  BYU A team, being National Champions, had no problem beating everybody.  We lost track of the score.  The first game was a whole lot to nothing. The B team beat their games but it was more evenly matched.  The C team learned alot as they also won their games.  I loved that Weber State asked to play the A team so they could get better.  After all, this was an invitational to get their feet wet before starting the season.

The Ruck.  So totally understand this now.  Thanks Luke for the lesson.  There was try after try after try. (Score after score after score.)  And you don't get points for your try until you touch the ball down. So why does football call it a touchdown when the ball never has to touch the ground?
