This is a picture of my sweet parents. I look at my mother as an old woman here. She had all her children out of the nest; had 42 grandchildren; was suffering with some health problems; and quite frankly, fit the title of "old woman." She was 62.
I am now that old woman. I am certainly feeling it today. I wish I had had my grandchildren when I was a bit younger so I could take care of them without fear of getting sick. Yep, I took care of Chase, who just had a little cold and weepy eye, and came home carrying his bugs. Old people and bugs do not mix well. I toughed it out for 5 days and finally dragged myself down to an InstaCare. Prognosis was not good. I had a bacterial infection of conjunctivitis, sinusitis, and bronchitis. "Women your age...." DON'T SAY IT! "This is a pretty serious infection for someone your age. I am giving you an anti-biotic, cough syrup, and some eye drops. Drink plenty of liquids and get plenty of rest and it should all clear up in a couple of weeks."
Did he just say weeks?!? Yes, that is exactly what he said. I am actually going to have to go to bed and be sick! Charlie is hating every minute of it. I send him golfing everyday so he doesn't have to take care of me. (Just leave me alone. I need rest.) He has enjoyed that but we are both getting pretty tired of me being sick.
Thankfully the Big Dance is on TV! I have watched more basketball this week than I have in years....and it's only down to the Sweet 16!! I even cheered for Utah!! They will meet Duke (#1 seed) next Friday night. If I am not feeling better by then...................... I hate being old.
Looking on the bright side - besides dancing... I didn't have to get up early to go to church today.
Another perk of old age is make-up. I have discovered that I look much better just smiling than using make-up. I use WAY LESS make-up and smile a lot more. :)
That is all...I have more basketball to watch.

That is way too long to be sick. Ah. Duke and Utah are playing in Houston! We are considering going. Even if it is Utah.. ;) And you are the youngest "old woman" I've ever known. And I do love that smile!
