Oh yeah...We're old

We lived in Moab for 9 years and built an addition on to the house. It consisted of a game room, a bathroom and another bedroom with a skylight. We did all the work ourselves. Foundation, framing, sheetrock, mud, paint...the whole nine yards. Out the back of this addition we put in a beautiful redwood deck. No problem.

We moved to Stansbury Park and spent 5 years there. We added a bathroom in the basement and an additional huge garage/workshop. I use the word "we" very freely, don't I? Charlie actually did the heavy work, but I was right there handling whatever I could. Once again, we did all the work. I was terribly impressed at my beefy husband as he used leverage to place the garage trusses all in place. I learned how to install a roof on this project.

We now live in Pennsylvania in a beautiful colonial home. We have been here only a year but have replaced some horrible MDF bookshelves with glassdoor wood cabinets, painted the entire interior of the house, landscaped the entire property and are in the process of building a brick walk and patio out back. I haul in the bricks and Charlie lays them down. No problem.......until we come inside and start hurting all over. In the morning we can barely get out of bed. The noise is deafening as we creak out of bed. It's all good. It says, "We are alive to hurt another day!"

I am so impressed with what you have built over the years. But hauling brick? I think your jobs on that one should be reversed, don't ya think? I think you are seeing my mom and Kyle and Teresa this weekend. Are they going to get to see your house or are you just meeting up in DC?

Yea! I'm glad you have a blog too! I saw that Kim and Wyck commented on ours too, but they need to allow me to see it! And don't worry, you're the youngest older sister my dad has!
