I spent Friday night and Saturday with my 3 Laurels in Allentown, PA. There were about 400 other Laurels and Priests from 7 stakes in the area there as well. (4 Stakes from Pennsylvania; 2 from New Jersey; and the Delaware Stake.)There was dinner and a dance Friday night. What a riot. I hadn't been to a youth dance in like forever so had no idea what to expect. Basically, everybody just stays out on the dance floor the entire time. There is an assigned line dance to every song and totally everybody knows the dances! I was blown away. Every now and then they would throw in a slow dance and people just paired up and rocked back and forth in formal hold position while politely smiling and conversing with each other. Of course there was the obligatory "Girl's choice" and "Choose someone you don't know" dances.

Members from the Allentown area put all these kids up in their homes that night.
Saturday morning we met at the stake center in Sunday dress for an all day church marathon of presentation, service, and speakers. Lunch was pizza on the lawn with a frisbee thrown in there for fun.
The hour of testimonies to close out the conference went for almost 2. What a thrill to feel the strength of the youth.

Four hundred teenagers chose to spend their Saturday together in church. How wild is that?

Don't you love serving with the youth? We just got done with a 2 1/2 hour wrap up meeting tonight with our youth committee discussing our Youth Conference that was held three weekends ago. It is amazing to witness the sacrifice of members and youth to accommodate the testimony building experiences for the future leaders of the church. The future is bright in the hands of these awesome youth, huh? They are amazing!!!
That's awesome.
