Tender Mercies

I served as the YW president in our ward for 3 years. There was one girl who we couldn't get to come out. I called a new Laurel president and she was challenged to be a friend. President Ellen is amazing and wonderful. Rachel started coming to church. A couple of months later she brought her parents. We got to know this family and welcomed them back.

The Lord knew what would happen next. Both parents ended up in 2 different hospitals; both in medically induced comas. Rachel, who turned 18 in December, was an adult and alone. She was in charge of signing an endless stream of papers to give the hospitals consent for all the testing that was to follow. Rachel doesn't have a license yet. She is a senior in high school just trying to graduate. I am so grateful to a loving Heavenly Father who saw to it that Rachel and her family came back to church when they would need the help of the ward the most. The members have been so wonderful to taxi Rachel to see both her parents, in 2 hospitals, 20 miles apart. Rachel needs us now more than ever. Her Dad was taken off life support last night. Today I will take Rachel to see her mother in Havre de Grace, Maryland hospital (Still in a coma). We are all His children. We are now His hands to comfort His own.
