And then to top it all off, when I took the rental car back to the airport, the ding in the front that I was aware of and had it noted on my contract had morphed into a crack under the bumper. I had to pay my $500 deductible plus the rental car fee!!! So called USAA before I got on the plane. This has turned into a fight between USAA and Enterprise. USAA is contesting it and demanding to have my $500 reimbursed. USAA has the best customer service in the world. Kim, my USAA contact, told me that Enterprise will try to send me a bill after all is said and done charging me for the days the car was not able to be rented. They might even send it to collections to intimidate me. She said to NOT pay anything but call her. Me thinks that USAA might terminate its contract with Enterprise. It sounded like they had other problems with this company. Love USAA!! Kim assured me they would fight my battle. (I just want my $500.)
Driving home one day I stopped behind this truck. It made me smile. I had just had the best day in Pennsylvania. The gal at the grocery store greeted me with, "How can I help you, sweetie?" The lady at Macy's was so friendly and called me "Dear." The man at the 4 way stop motioned for me to go thru even though he was there first. While putting gas in my car, the guy on the other pump said, "Good afternoon," and smiled. Honestly, I find people starting conversations all the time while we wait in line just about anywhere out here. I just love it. I have had conversations while waiting in line at the DMV. A guy just started talking to me as we waited in line. When it was his turn, I began a conversation with the girl behind me. Monkey see, monkey do. I will definitely miss this when we retire out west.
Andy was up from North Carolina for some much needed R and R. It was too cold to go golfing so we did the next best thing. One can always use a new $350.00 putter!

This is totally how we feel in Texas! The biggest difference I've noticed is the driving here - everyone is so nice and considerate - everyone uses blinkers, let's you go first, and does the "thank you wave" for letting them in in front of you. I love the people here! (I still love Utah people, but I love the stranger love here!)
Never move to Vegas. I'm ready to head back to the midwest for some friendly interactions!
