| Johnsons back in Utah for the first time in 4 years!!! |
A Davis vacation or family reunion always involves lots of work. We like it that way. We have never really been able to sit around and talk. We have to be playing a game, doing a puzzle, or working. We like the working best. I guess it goes back to Price, Utah when the kids were all little. We had all electric heat and couldn't afford the bills in the winter, so we bought a wood burning stove to heat the house. August and September were wood gathering months. We scoured the mountains around Price with treats and picnic basket. We all crammed into the cab of our truck and set off on an adventure. Once all the wood was home, the chain saw and splitter came out. Charlie handled the chainsaw part and the kids and I worked the splitter. After the wood was split and stacked by the garage, we drove to a coal mine and bought a ton of coal. Yeah, the kids love to work with us.
Last week Stephanie's family, Charlie and I stayed with Brent's family in Cedar City. The order of the week was to build a large shed on the back of Brent's property so Charlie would have someplace to store all his tools when we move to St. George. We had a ball. The grandkids were so good to stay safe and play within eyeshot. Pretty easy when you have a fun backyard like Brent and Carol have. Carol provided wonderful meals along with some fun meals brought in by Grandpa and Nana.
