And this is what happens when it rains HARD in the desert, thanks to Hurricane Norbert.
If you recall, we suffered through 2 really bad hurricanes, Irene and Sandy, while living in Pennsylvania. We lost power, had our basement flooded, and had a natural thinning of the trees out back in Narnia. (Our half acre woods)
Is it me, or is weather following us? Record snowfall, Pennsylvania-like, last December and now rain, Pennsylvania-like, in the desert we retreated to trying to avoid this side of Mother Nature.
Am I complaining? NO!! It was so pretty! Everything turned red and colorful. My yard got a super watering job for free. It cooled the air to a delightful 80 breezy degrees. On my way to Albertson's, I was turned around because of a closed road, but that made me detour along roads I had never seen or experienced and I found more pretty red streets.

| Coming home after last Visiting Teaching appointment a block from home. |
| Santa Clara "Dry" river bed. |
| Southgate Golf course. Charlie might have to wear his boots tomorrow. |
| It's not a street paved with gold....but sure is pretty. |
| Come play, but wear swimming suit. |
| We use this road every day to get to Kohl's, Home Depot, Costco...you know, all the important stores. Maybe tomorrow. |
| I stole this picture of the Virgin Gorge. It reminded me of rain in Moab as the water cascades off into the river. I hear the gorge is closed for awhile. No more trips to Vegas. |
I-15 just north between Mesquite and Vegas in the Moapa Valley. This is going to make many a trucker unhappy. You should see the detour they have to take now! There will be lots of happy store owners in all those little podunk towns along the detour!
I just hope they get I-15 back together before we head down to San Diego in November. |
