I thought of posting a picture with this, but the guy doesn't deserve it.
Back in 1999, we were living in Moab and Charlie was the CEO of the hospital. One of his jobs was to recruit new doctors to the area. Sometimes they would bring their families (if they were serious about the job) to show them around, etc. One weekend, a doctor brought his wife and girls to check out Moab. Charlie and I took them to lunch at the Moab Brewery (best restaurant in Moab). I was there to answer any questions the wife had about living in Moab and any questions the girls had about the schools. It was very clear to me about 30 minutes into the lunch that the girls and wife had NO desire to move to Moab. In fact, one of the girls said, "We are not moving here." It became an awkward lunch. The doctor kept smiling and asking questions like he was really excited about the area. After the lunch, on our way back home, I told Charlie that I didn't think they would be moving here. He agreed and said this guy was just a film flam guy who wanted to get a free vacation out of the deal. (The hospital paid all expenses in recruiting.)
The doctor's name? Martin MacNeal. He was sentenced this last week to the prison for murdering his wife. What a creep.
