A note from beyond

I am not quite sure when, but long ago I went through Mom's recipe box and copied some of my favorite recipes for myself. (It might have been an assignment for my Homeliving class at Provo High.)  I must have run out of cards (and by this time my Cookie section was pretty full) so I took some of her older cards in the back that she said she never used anymore.  I just typed my recipes on the backside of these cards.  Works for me.
Fast forward probably 45 years or so.....
Andy texted me and asked me to send some cookie recipes he remembered as a child.  So easy to scan and e-mail.  It was in this process that I discovered that on the back of one of these really old cards was her Fudge Brownie recipe.  Probably the very first one she ever wrote down!  As I recall, she got it from Laura Jost in Missouri.  It looks like she started to write the recipe, got distracted, came back and finished it later.  I also notice there was no vanilla added.  That's probably why she nixed this card and shoved it in the back while making a new card.
Such a fun find!!  The original recipe in Mom's own hand.

Thanks Mom, for being with me again this Christmas.
