The dreaded orange cones!

The move to Pennsylvania brought about an unexpected, pleasant surprise. We have been here for two years and have not had one (not even an eency one) chip in our windshields. We have NOT avoided the orange cones, however. The orange cones in Utah meant just one thing....CONSTRUCTION! You always had some sort of warning. (Even if it was a rock flying up and chipping your windshield.) The roads out here are tree-lined, winding, and almost all just 2 lanes. The speed limits are mostly 40-45. It makes for a wild ride when there are dips and curves everywhere. And then you see them....the dreaded orange cones! They can only mean one thing out here....TREE PEOPLE! Every time it rains or the wind blows (which means every other day) the 200 year old trees that are rotting just tend to give up and fall in the road. The tree people try to keep up on which tree will fall next....but that's a lot of trees. Occasionally you will see a tree marked for demolition. You can avoid that area until the tree people are gone. Mostly, the trees just fall over and you get the orange cones.

You don't have any 200 year old trees near your beautiful house, do you?

The trees nearest us we planted. The ones in the back can't be a day over 120.
