My little sister, Raelene, came for a week long visit. We packed way too much into that week but decided it was worth the aches and pains.
She spoke to all the women in our ward during Young Women. (The Elder's quorum took Primary so these ladies could attend.) The topic was self-esteem and seeing yourself through God's eyes. It was wonderful. Thanks, Raelene. Just the right things were said and just the right things were heard by those who the spirit would touch.
On Monday we headed down to Washington DC. We took in the DC temple of course, stopped by our old house in McLean, and had lunch AND dinner with a dear friend from our days in Norfolk.
Stephanie and the kids came in for lunch.
(Notice the awesome color coordinating here.)
We hadn't planned to have dinner too, but we were still yapping and catching up when we found we were hungry again and 5 hours had passed. (Different restaurant though.)

Tuesday was a gorgeous day before the heat wave was to strike so we took advantage of it and went to Longwood Gardens. 40 plus acres outside and 4 acres inside an arboretum. We got there on Lilies extravaganza week in the arboretum. We even had lunch at the swank cafe there where they serve the original menu from its founding in 1906.
Wednesday was Amish day. We went into Lancaster County and up to Intercourse, PA. You just have to see this place to appreciate it. Shop with the Amish, be served by the Amish for lunch, see tons of quilts hand=stitched by them, and take lots of pictures. Raelene finally bought some souvenirs! All food from the Kountry Kettle Kitchen. Good luck packing it. She also ended up purchasing 20 window candles. (Had to be the kind that plug in but only come on after dark because of the little electric eye.) She had been looking for them for years. We put these in our windows all year long so they are everywhere out here. I made fun of her for the huge suitcase she had brought for just a week. I wasn't laughing when she was able to get all 20 candles (in individual boxes) and all the honey and jam into that suitcase for the trip home.
SO....if you come to see me, pack light and carry a big suitcase.
Thursday was Hershey!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Enough said.
We laughed, we cried, we walked, we ate, we had a fantastical time.

You make me look forward to another time of life. But I'm going to still enjoy this one. :-)
