Empty nesters on vacation

My sister-in-law, Mary and her hubby, Loren Bishop came to visit last week.  Vacationing without kids is way, super fun.  We slept in every morning and had NO schedule.
We went to Gettysburg the first day.  Did the museum, the movie, and the self-guided drive.  We found a tavern for dinner.  Dobbin Tavern.  Takes you way back to before the civil war.  We had a wench for a waitress and everything.  The really fun thing about the day is we all got tired about the same time.  (And nobody complained.)
Next day we went to Longwood Gardens.  Mammoth gardens with a 5 acre indoor conservatory.  It crazy rained so we spent the whole time in the conservatory.

Intercourse, Pennsylvania was next.  Yes.  That is its name.  Look it up.  It is in the middle of Amish farms.  It happened to be the rhubarb festival when we went, so way crowded, but had live bands going. We took in the Amish, their shops, their buggies, quilts, and stuff.  We were all ready to go at the same time.  We even got thirsty at the same time so stopped at this Amish run business for a drink.

Sunday was our stake conference.  Two hours and we were done!  Woo Hoo!  Had to stop at the Gilpin bridge on the way home from church for one more picture.
We could have done so much more! (Hershey, downtown Philly, etc.)
What did we do?  We relaxed at home and got 2 jigsaw puzzles done. Great vacation, super company, lots of talking, geneology sharing, and lots of eating. Pretty perfect vacation if you ask me.
