Rock it, baby!

So now I have been backstage at a rock concert!  This is one of the security guys backstage.  Everyone was so polite and helpful. (But then we did look a little out of place.  No black.)  We entered with Chelsea through the security gate and were taken to her dressing room (shared by 4 other guys).  This security guy got us our tickets and we even had all access backstage passes.  Charlie and I sat backstage in the dressing room during sound checks.

After sound checks, we were taken to catering to eat dinner with the bands. (The bands playing were CB7, Anberlin, and 30 Seconds to Mars.)  What a spread.  Tender beef rounds, salmon, asparagus, salads, cakes, cookies, potatoes, etc.  You get the picture.  Everyone was so normal!  No swearing, throwing food, yelling, or anything.  The crew then took us to our seats.  8th row center.  Far enough back behind the mosh pit so we could still see.  Yes, we used earplugs.

 Chelsea was playing bass with CB7 because their bass player quit right before tour.  She was able to step in (her manager also manages CB7) at the last minute.  She also played keyboards on some numbers and timbales on another.  CB7 was the first band to play.  They played a 25 minute set.  After her set, we got up and went back to the lobby to say goodbye to her.  People couldn't believe we were leaving before the headlining band.

We saw what we came to see.
It was so loud, even with earplugs, that we had enough.  No wonder the band all wear earpieces.  Real expensive ones that are hooked up to little boxes (see the one in Chelsea's back pocket) that controls the sound for them.
It was real easy for Chelsea to find us in the lobby after her set.  We were the only ones not in black.  We didn't have the glow sticks around our necks and arms either.

This is Francois.  He plays guitar and is French Canadian.  He is the nicest young man!!  My opinion of rock musicians has changed. (A little.)
