Old ladies rule!

Every year, Melinda's studio, Diamond Talent, puts on the opening ceremonies for the Huntsman Senior World Games. (And yes, they come from all over the world.) There are 67 countries represented now. She ran into problems as the number grew because it was hard to have her students do the musical numbers AND do the flags. Her solution was genius. Old ladies. I watched last year and  got excited for this year. It was sooooo much fun!!!!
We met in her dance studio on Saturday, Oct 4. She kind of taught us what to expect and what to do. Dress rehearsal was Monday night and so exciting!

Tuesday night we all showed up in our concert black (because the emphasis should totally be on the flag.)  Before we did our thing to the music with Melinda's kids, we got to hold the flags on both sides of the field as the parade of athletes came on the field through our flags and up to their seats in the stands.
My neighbor, Trudy Wooden, has done this every year Melinda has had the old broads help. She introduced me to some of her peeps. They all dance in a women's dance club.

Then it was time for the Parade of Flags!!! So exciting. I was Italy. Once on the field we even got to twirl and stuff. So fun!

I can't wait to do it again next year. I think I will ask for an "A" country. They get to be on the field longer.
Thanks Melinda for a rockin' good time!
