Pumpkins will roll

Each year our Green Valley 5th ward has a neighborhood Pumpkin derby and Chili cook-off.
The pumpkin has to be the first one down the hill using whatever means without human power. The winner this year was a primary girl with her pumpkin strapped to a long board.
We walk 100 feet back up the hill to the neighborhood park and commenced eating chili with all the neighbors round about. Every door gets an invite so we needed lots of chili! Homemade scones fried right there make up the dessert. The lights didn't go on this year, so we ended quickly and cleaned up to cell phone flashlights.

I like this a lot better than a trunk-or-treat! I think the neighbors do too. (I saw our sister missionaries writing furiously and talking much.) The size of the crowd this year was about twice the size of our ward on Sunday.
