Halloween 2015

What happened to Halloween?  Back in the olden days, like the 1950's, we would put on a hobo costume, or Mom's dress-ups, carry a small sandwich bag or pillow case and run from door to door for an hour and be done.
Today it is a billion dollar industry!!  Our children all dress up in themes with their children.  They have a Carnival at the schools, trunk-or-treat at the church, go to Daddy's office to get candy, and still go out trick or treating in phenomenal costumes!!!  In our neighborhood, we have 2 different streets that give out donuts, hot dogs, root beer floats, AND candy.  There are spook alleys in garages, light shows matched with scary music, and carnival games in the driveways.  They seem to try to out-do the other.  Not us.  We went to a movie.  We sat in the dark with about 100 other old people, all trying to dodge the trick-or-treaters.  We drove up, or tried to, to our house at 8:30.  We could barely get up the street!!!  There were sooooo many cars that usually are not in the neighbrohood.  The church parking lot was half full of people from across town.  The word has gotten out.  We left and went to Baskin Robbins.  We got home a little after 9:00 and the place was deserted again.  One neighbor had bought 30 bags of candy.  Almost $100.00!!!!!!!!!!!!!! All was given out.
Costumes?  You want costumes?  Of course the best ones were made by Stephanie.  Erica, the leopard with her 3 brother minions.  Zoe was a Pokemon character (Rayquasa) while Matt and Miles were Aquabats.
