Lucky Disaster

I was running out the door to go shopping when I saw that the toilet near the backdoor was not flushed.  I flushed it and the water started to rise.....plunge, plunge....nothing.....I will fix it when I get home.   I started the washing machine up and left.   shop...shop...shop....shop...shop
When I got home, I opened the door to this.
I know it's hard to see, but the water goes all the way past the chairs in the kitchen.  At first I totally panicked as I knew the water had come from the toilet.  I took a close look and realized there were bubbles in the water.  First order of business was to get rid of the water.  After that was completed I went to work on the toilet.  Plunging was not doing a thing and the gurgle sounds from down below were a concern.  I called Charlie and explained what was happening.  We are on a septic system and he is not schooled in the mis-workings of said system so thought it best to call the plumber.  The plumber guy got here within the hour and discovered the total system backed up at the entry pipe to the septic tank.  He used his magic (big, long metal pole put down the septic pipe outside to dislodge clog) and everything went WHOOSH.  All clear!  We're back in business. (Haven't seen the bill yet.)
The water that came out of the toilet was luckily the washing machine rinse water.  Yes, it could have been much worse.  So the bathroom and kitchen floors got a good cleaning.  I even disinfected them because of where the water had been.   Yep. Pretty lucky.

Yep, that would freak me out too! Easy way to clean the floors, though. You should do it more often!

Someone must have been a good girl to get that kind of a blessing! Yikes!
