More Christmas in Nauvoo

Nauvoo Temple as seen from our hotel room.  Pretty sweet view.

Crossing the Mississippi.

We learned how to make shoes and boots.  The two shoes of a pair were made exactly the same so the pioneers could rotate the shoes to the other foot as they began to wear.  Pretty smart.

Joseph and Hiram Smith down at the river landing.

Mansion House of Joseph Smith
We found the place that Charles Augustus Davis lived in the Records building.  Charles (the original) lived 2 blocks from the Mansion House!  Stephen Martindale Farnsworth owned 2 and a half acres of land about a half mile east of the temple.
(Our GG grandpas.)

We even learned how to make guns!

Sister Money, on the right, was our favorite!  She helped us in the Records building the first day, and then we found her in the Pharmacy and General Store the next day.  Such a total sweetie.  She's from Texas.

Inside the Scovil Bakery.  Little Sister Bennett (on the left) was born  in Japan.  She served a mission in Japan when she was younger.  She has served a mission with her husband to Brazil and now in Nauvoo.
