The Blue Angels to Colorado

Saturday was the airshow "Thunder in the Desert." Grandpa, Nana, and Zoe took off. We were prepared with umbrellas, visors, sunglasses, and sunscreen. It was overcast, rained a little, windy, and NOT 100*. I'll take it.
Army was there with these guys. Kind of exciting knowing that Andy had done this and beat out the Army guys at their own training camp by receiving the the award for the best officer in the jump school. Go Navy guy!
This is the plane they jumped out of. It was intermission, so I could actually see it with everyone sitting down or off to get their $5 ice cream bar.
Had to scout out the Navy guys!
Time to take our Zoe Beth home to Castle Rock, Colorado. She sat like this the entire 10 hour drive and watched 5 movies!!
This is why they call the place Castle Rock. It is about 30 miles outside Denver. What a climate change for us! It is 6200 feet up and never got above 75* while we were there. It rained 3 of the 5 days there.
Miles in his favorite place with the ipad watching the Wiggles.
Zoe made out a schedule for us. So cute!
Kid's night at Applebee's. The balloon lady, Dolly, kept the kids (and Matt) happy while we were waiting for our dinner.
Zoe has been saving her money to get a rescue dog. We saw this dog in the park and she LOVED it! (His name was Jackson and she fell in love.) Jackson is only a year old. I don't think Mom and Dad will go for a Great Dane.
This little guy was a much better fit. Zoe and Gadget bonded immediately!
After playing in Colorado for the week, Grandpa and Nana headed home.
We stopped by Brent's house on the way home. Happy 35th birthday, Brent. The kids gave him a Navy flag to fly on his flagpole in the front yard under the American flag. (It's a very big flagpole!)
I think the last family night lesson was "Love at Home."
Welcome to the family, Gadget. I now have 6 grandkids and 2 granddogs.
